Mission Statement: This web page was designed as a college course project to inform and educate my fellow peers on ways to stay healthy and fit. I do not claim to hold a PhD in health, nor do I study in school for health. All information provided on this web site is a culmination of material that has been researched and presented to you. Hope you enjoy!

Have  a little gut?  Can't seem to stop the craving for stuffing yourself?  Let's face it, life as an college student is not what its cracked up to be. The long days of exams, papers, studying and balancing your own personal life  wreck havoc on our bodies, especially if you  have a full or part-time job. We tend to fall in to bad habits because students don't really have to time to cook a healthy meal after a long day of running around. Take out favorites like McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's,  and  various Chinese Food restaurants have become our way  to satisfy or hunger. Candies and sweets have also taken the place of fruits and vegetables.

Here are some tips on maintaining good health habits during the school year:

  1. 1. Drink water. Drinking enough water can help boost your concentration as well as keep you from overeating. Make sure to keep hydrated as you go through your day by bringing water with you.

  1. 2. Limit sugary and caffeinated beverages. Beverages may not fill you up, but they sure can help fatten you up and have a detrimental effect on your overall health. You don't have to completely give up soda and coffee, but you should scale back in order to keep yourself in tip top shape.

  1. 3. Try to eat fruits and veggies. Even if fruits and vegetables don't comprise some of your favorite foods, try to incorporate at least a few of them into your diet each day. Check out the video below.

  1. 4. Limit junk food. Junk food is fast and easy and many students end up eating a lot of it while they're on the run to class or to work. While a little fast food now and again won't really hurt you, make sure it doesn't become a habit.

  1. 5. Drink moderately. While college students are known for their partying, you can still have a good time without consuming all the calories that come along with binging on beer, plus you'll avoid the hangovers and other negative effects. Drink in moderation and you can have a good time without hurting your health.

6. Exercise. Fitting exercise into a busy schedule isn't always the easiest thing, but take stock of some of these tips to help you get on track to fitness.
