THE OZONE LAYER
In the atmosphere, there is a layer of ozone which shields the earth. That shield protects the earth from the sun’s harmful UV rays. The sun’s harmful UV rays exposed in high quantities in humans can produce cancer in the skin. The shield that absorbs most of the UV rays is getting weaker every time that people release greenhouse gases by human hand. The consequences of these actions could be in big swings in weather patterns across the world. If this continues summers will become dryer and hotter, winters will be wetter and colder. Also because of the shield is getting weaker, continental glaciers will start melting because of the heat of the UV rays that penetrate stronger and it would cause sea level to rise.

THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT
The earth is surrounded by a blanket of gases that traps energy in the atmosphere. Normally the green house effect is a natural process that made life on earth possible. The greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide. When we talk about the greenhouse effect, we mean the increase of greenhouse gases from human sources. This action actually started in the Industrialization era.
