The Lumiere brothers, Auguste and Louis. In 1895 invented the Cinematographe with the ability to be a camera and a projector- first demonstrated to the public on December 28. With the cinematographe, he also created over a thousand movie catalogue to show to the public. Mostly documentary type films, but also some fictional works
The Vitascope was first publicly displayed by Charles F. Jenkins and Thomas Armat in 1895 in Atlanta, GA. Originally called a Phantoscope, the two inventors began have conflicts and parted ways. Aramat claimed ownership and sold his invention to the Edison company Vitascope

The Kinetoscope, one of the earliest known projectors in U.S. history was brought out by the Edison company. Originally shown at fairs. eventually, due to popularity, moved into their own parlors.
Nickelodeon Theatres , named after the nickel priced entrance, was invented in Pittsburgh, PA. They were so successful that even with competition; inventors Harry Davis and John P Harris were still able to turn a great profit from them Nick Theatre
