The Vitascope was first publicly displayed by Charles
F. Jenkins and Thomas Armat in 1895 in
Atlanta,
GA. Originally called a
Phantoscope, the two inventors began have conflicts and parted
ways. Aramat claimed ownership and sold his invention to the
Edison

Nickelodeon Theatres , named after

Davis and John P Harris were still able to turn a great profit
