The Beginnings and Origins of DJ Sensi Melia
These are the stories of my beginnings. I was born in the countryside of the small island of Jamaica. Growing up in this small island, you learn how to obtain discipline, manners, street smarts, and of course musical inclination. In these days the music and the vybes were so sweet you would only come home from school to go outside and enjoy the day that God made. Certain ranges of music had a hand in the music that I listen to now, and also the love that I have obtained through the listening of the art. As a youth, the genres of music that are closes to us are that of Reggae and Dancehall. Then my mother used to jam the oldies but goodies in my ear through out the years. Then to come to America and have my eyes opened to different things and newer forms of music, made my perception wrong on a catastrophic scale. I heard Rap and Hip Hop for the first time when my brother came home with a vinyl of the Sugar Hill Gang. Even though I wasnt even a thought when that song came out, it gave me an new way to bop my head. So naturally I liked the music alot. Then my father was born in St.Kitts, and my mother from Jamaica. Thats how I obtained my reggae and calypso influences. These influences stuck with me through out my teenage years to today where now I hold a dream and a vison to create a genre of music. This genre of music would bring all sounds of the world to create a humanity genre of music that all cultures and ethnicities of the world can listen and enjoy. Hopefully I can create something that the world would embrace that spans all of the worlds culture. It would be tought but it definetly can be done. I might need a little help so I would ask the help of others who would like to become producers and who want to have an impact on the world.
