When you bear the name of baseball's greatest pioneer and one of its most legendary competitors, your future seems pretty much set. It was no real shock, therefore, when Robinson Cano rose steadily through the minors and became a big league star. That his address remained in the Bronx, by contrast, was a surprise. For a team that in recent history has traded blue-chip prospects as if they were penny stocks, the Yankees showed amazing restraint when it came to Robinson. And are New York fans ever glad the team did. In his short career, Robinson has proven he shares more in common with Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson than his name. This is his story…
