An affordable and portable computer; it can also be the center of your living room.

Started by the Raspberry Pi Foundation in 2012. The UK based charitable foundation aimed to build an affordable computer that would offer the most basic level of functionality, and help promote computer science in schools all over the world. The result was a $35 (there's also a $25 model) credit card sized computer. To keep cost low, the raspberry pi comes with the minimum hardware needed for an operating system (O/S) to run properly. This little computer packs a punch, it has the same processing power that cells phones had just a few years ago. Using HDMI to connect to an HDTV, it can playback Blu-ray quality video. With the processor and GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) working together, it is roughly equivalent to the same level of performance as the original Xbox.
