Design

The HTC One was previously awarded the Best Smartphone at the Mobile World Congress for it’s beautiful design and quality. Now, the device has been remade to a better looking handset with more features and optimal performance. The HTC One (M8) is a beautiful brushed metal cased device with very thin edges and curved body to make it easy to hold in the hand. Besides it’s body, the device has 5 inch ips super LCD display at 1080p with a very high pixel density which allows to watch HD content. Now the phone supports external storage up to 128 GB and a better lasting battery.

Camera

Now there are two cameras in the back which HTC named the Duo-Cameras. HTC's Ultrapixel camera, as they call it, may have a lower pixel count but since its pixels are larger than usual, it provides good image. The main rear Camera takes the pictures while the other camera gathers depth information which opens up tons of features to edit pictures. With this technology you may get some of the features that a professional DSLR camera can do such as the Bokeh effect that selects which area you want to focus and blurry the rest of it.

The One M8's front facing camera is surely outstanding. The company knows people these days love taking selfies so they included a 5MP wide angled camera in the front for taking the best selfies.

BoomSound

The device sports two front high quality speakers being used by HTC's technology named BoomSound. These speakers are 25% louder than last year’s model without messing up the clarity of the sound, providing zero distortion. The built in software toggle also called BoomSound boost the audio of these speakers and also boosts the sound of music through headphones also without creating any distortion. The combination of these two strong speaker helps for better listening when receiving notifications on loud areas.

Software

The new HTC One (M8) launches with Google’s latest smartphone software called Android 4.4.2 KitKat together with HTC’s skin Sense 6.0. The software on the device is very light and responsive making it able to multitask without slowing down the system. The BlinkFeed home page which opens up when the device is unlocked provides the news of your choice. Also, Sense 6.0 brings up tons of editing tools in the gallery app that work together with the Duo-Camera. The TV app works flawlessly with the IR blaster located at the top of the device used for controlling your TV and cable box. Lastly, the use of the power button of rarely needed since now it is easier to unlock the device by just swiping it from any direction while the screen is off or on and double tapping the screen will bring up the lock screen or turn off the display. Overall the One is that one device you need for your everyday life. Google software enhances your experience everyday and due to android being open source you are free to modify the look of your phone to whatever you want and make it do almost everything a computer does!
