Brief History of Anime:
Anime is short for Japanese animation. Anime is an art form that came about around 1917. During the 1960s up to the 80s is when Anime became popularized in western culture. The art styles used today in anime can vary between extremely cartoonish and exaggerated to very realistic. The themes and plots of Anime can be just as unique with many types of anime being targeted to a more mature audience.
