What is PokéSearch?

This website is my take on the final project for BIS 13. Fortunately for me, I have experience in web development and most of the techniques taught in class, I was already highly familiar with. For my final project I wanted to go above and beyond and incorporate something that was not taught in this class; and that is the incorporation of an API into the website. The API I used for this site was the free pokemon API. I used this particular API because I recently started getting into Pokémon games and I wanted to align my new found hobby with this project.

Features of PokéSearch

This website has features that I incorporated from usual Pokémon games and give this website the same kind of aesthetic that the games have. My two main features of this website are the Pokédex and the Battle features. I had a lot of fun trying to utilize the information in the API and bring it to life in a glossary of Pokémon that includes the type of Pokémon it is, the name, an image, basic information like stats and many more. The second feature, the Battle feature, took countless nights and research about utilizing and manipulating the information in the API to create visual representations of the Pokémons losing health and giving value to each attack. This feature was by far my best work and I am proud of what I was able accomplish in the time we were given to complete this project.
