Bangladesh is surrounded by green. But none can compare with Sylhet. Here green is beautiful green. From spinning hills covered in lush green tea gardens and gleaming paddy fields to olive marshlands and reserved forests, Sylhet seems to have been blessed with every possible shade of green one can imagine. Sylhet offers great scenic beauty and immense natural charm. Tea-gardens, mixed evergreen forests, mountains and waterfalls running down these mountains are the major fascinations of its beauty. Sylhet has flourished much as a tourist spot.
An interesting feature of Sylhet region is the aboriginal tribes such as the Tipperas, the Monipuris, Khasias and Garos who still live in their primitive ways in the hills, practicing their age-old rites, rituals, customs and traditions. During festivals such as, Rash Leela (Full-moon night in February) and Doljatra, the attractive young girls dressed in colorful robes, dance with the male members of their choice & love. The Monipuris perform their famous dance, based on allegorical love themes of the ancient mytholog. Sylhet, of course, is best known for its tea. This is where the country’s commercial tea production first began, and a few of the region's 130-odd tea estates are walking distance from the city center.
Berai Sylhet is a platform to inspire people to see something new, to discover greater Sylhet. Our purpose is to deliver growth for Sylhet by attracting visitors and building Sylhet’s reputation as a true destination.
