Flaws and Environmental Effect of Hydroelectricity.

The main flaw of hydroelectric power is obviously not every place has access to flowing water but there is another negative. According to the National Ocean Service, "River obstruction such as dams, culverts, and waterfalls have the potential to slow or stop fish migration." (National Ocean Service). To put it simply fish are unable to reach their traditional spawning grounds to reproduce. This can lead to lower fish populations. However, scientists and engineers have already created a solution to this problem. That solution is fish ladders. Fish ladders are ascending pools of water that fish can jump up and down to bypass dams and other obstructions blocking their route.
