Dogs: man’s best friend or man’s worst enemy?

Dogs are one of the most famous and common household pets. Their joyfulness is bound to uplift and put a smile on anyone's face. The best part is that they come in many shapes and sizes. Meaning, you can pick a dog that works best for you, whether it be a tiny Chihuahua or a towering Great Dane. However, since dogs are highly social animals you will need to interact and play with them often. If not, dogs can get sad and possibly even depressed. This could result in them refusing to eat and becoming lethargic. If you find yourself not home most of the time, then dogs might not be for you. Furthermore, Dogs need to be taken on walks to use the bathroom. Finally, dogs need to have obedience training either by the owner or a trainer to ensure proper behavior. If you're someone who is short on time and patience dogs are not a good match for you. However, if you're someone who spends a reasonable amount of time at home and has free time here and there; A dog can become a best friend like no other. A friend that will bring endless joy and love to their owner.

Cats: feline friends or feline foes?

Cats are another common household pet. They come in many different colors and patterns but all range around the same size. A cat’s temperament is much different than a dog. While dogs are more social and interactive, you will find that cats are more independent and to themselves. However, this doesn’t mean that cats won’t give their owners displays of affection but rather that they won’t do it too often. Cats use a litterbox when they must use the bathroom. All the owner must do Is periodically clean it and fill it with new litter. Finally, some cats might require frequent brushing to combat the excessive amounts of shedding that might occur. If you are looking for a highly energetic pet that you can play with all day, then cats might not be the best option for you. But if you are a person who doesn’t have too much time on their hands and lacks the energy to play frequently; a cat’s minimal upkeep and independent nature might make them the perfect match for you.

Fishes: aquatic friends or aquatic headaches?

Fish are vastly different as pets when compared to cats and dogs. First things first, fish reside in aquariums. Fish come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. The type of fish you get will determine the amount of care that will be involved. Goldfish are hearty fish and are not too sensitive to water conditions. However, saltwater fish are much more sensitive and require much more care. Fish will usually require a daily feeding and a weekly water change. While fish are not too difficult to take care of; they require a big setup. You will need to get a fish tank, a water heater, a filter, and possibly other things depending on the fish. Fish are not for everybody considering they're more of a display animal. However, they will make perfect pets for those who want to sit back and admire without having to put in much work. Fish also make good pets for those that might have allergies. Fish can become great pets that can offer the same amount of enjoyment as cats and dogs while maintaining a minimal upkeep and small footprint.
