His Major League Debut was on May 29, 1995 as the Shortstop of the New York Yankees and his final at bat was September 28, 2014. He played his entire career with one Major League Team which was the New York Yankees.

Derek Jeter was the Rookie of the year in 1996 and was the World Series MVP of the World Series against the New York Mets. He is a five time world champion 1996, 1998-2000 and in 2009. During the years Derek Jeter became a fan favorite player and he got different kind of nicknames. His most known nick names are “The Captain”, and “Mr. November”.
Derek Jeter came up the Yankees farm system with three other players which became the Yankees core four. The core four included Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, and Mariano Rivera. The core four all played in the Minor League together and made their major league debuts in 1995. From those “core four”; Jeter was the last to retire in 2014 while Mariano River and Andy Pettitte retired in 2013 and Jorge Posada retired in 2011. Their last World Series won was in 2009 when they all played their last season together.
During the beginning of the 2014 Spring Training Derek Jeter announced that following his final season he would retire. During the course of the season every team the Yankees played showed their appreciation of what he brought to the sport of baseball and gave him gifts to show how thankful they were to have played with and against him. Fans in every stadium the Yankees visited chanted his name every time he came up to bat. He said he had the goose bumps hearing his name being chanted by fans that once booed him during the course of his career.
