Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

This game is extremely straight forward. Run, Shoot, Jump, Aim, Throw Grenade and you win!

Yes, this game is easy. It may seem like you're doing absolutely nothing special and a win can come as easy as walking down some steps, but there are some deeper aspects to this game that can make you better at it, solidifying that place on top. Knowledge is the key to being the best at this game, because the way to play the game doesn't very too much, it boils down to who has more knowledge about the map, the guns and the enemy. On this page I'll tell you more about Kills VS. Death, Drop-shotting and Movement.

Kills VS. Deaths

People tend to believe that having the most kills on the team means they're the best, that they contributed the most to the win and are indispensable, that simply isn't true. You can have the most kills on your team but still have lost the match because you died 44 times and have managed to kill 23 people does not make you good. There is something called a K/D Ratio (Kill/Death Ratio) and it's basically how many kills you have divided by how many deaths you have. It's always better to have more kills than deaths, even if you have 0 kills and 0 deaths is better because you're depriving the other team of points, which is the best for your team. Striving to not die is just as important as getting kills and can mean the difference between a win and a loss.

Drop-Shotting

This won't make you the best overnight and definitely isn't the best tool in the shed but it is a tool that has to be there. Drop-shotting is a simple thing to do, what it does is it makes you harder to be shot and might save your life a few of times in a match. Since Call of Duty is so realistic in its make, it would be common sense that the game has some real life aspects to it as well. In war would you want to just be standing in the middle of a battlefield with your M16? No, you would want to be closer to the ground so it's not as easy to be shot. Same thing can be applied to the game, since your closer to the ground you're harder to hit. Simple, right? No, because when you begin drop-shotting too much people will begin to aim at the floor instead of at your head, so use in moderation.

Movement

It is of course important to not die a lot for your team while getting the kills necessary to win the game, and it is also important to know how to drop-shot and when to use it, but the most important thing I can teach you on this page is how to move around in the game. I don't mean walking forward and backwards, but what I do mean is moving around in the physical area presented to you, the pre-rendered area provided by the developers of the game. We’ll call it a "map" just to make things easier. As you play the game more, you begin to become accustomed to the maps, knowing where to go and how to get there and that’s just peachy, but you probably never thought about the most strategic places to go or the best possible route to get to a certain place. Movement is a key component to becoming better at the game. Most players tend to run around aimlessly until they find something to shoot, but there is a better way to go about it. Knowing the 'Hotspots' of a map is crucial to winning or losing. Hotspots are the place where the most people like to go, where you will most likely end up in a shootout with the enemy, and knowing these spots are very important. On most maps you want to stay away from these spots and on other maps you want to head directly there, it's up to you to make that decision, but the simple knowledge of these spots are very important.

HotspotsThe hotspots are the Red squares and the coldspots are the Blue squares. The most people would tend to be in the red squares rather than the blue ones.
