Fruits

Fruits carry many vitamins and minerals your body needs. Fruits are rich in fiber which aid greatly with the digestion system.  Fruits work very well as a snack. Instead of cookies and cakes that are high in Trans fats and increase your chance of stoke and/or heart disease, have an apple, grape or even watermelon. All fruit are good for you but the super fruits are blue berries which have the greatest amount of antioxidants and are also high in fiber.

Vegetables

The best choice of food are vegetables even though fruits and vegetables are so common in nutrition, most vegetables are slightly higher in calcium, iron and other vitamins and minerals. Dark leafy greens are the best in vitamins and minerals. The power house vegetables are spinach and kale. Juicing can offer one great benefits. Juicing is the easiest and quickest way your body can take in nutrition. The body only takes 15 minutes to consume nutrients after juicing. Juicing twice a day can clean out your system of toxins and is a great way to lose weight.

Whole Grain

Whole grain vs. whole wheat, both are healthy but of course whole grain is twice as much healthier and better than whole wheat. Whole grain foods are rich in fiber, selenium, potassium, and magnesium. Eating whole grain helps with weight control, lowering the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, lowering the risk of colorectal cancer, and keeps blood pressure within normal range. Whole grain has a good source of carbohydrates, which fuel your body with energy.

Legumes

Legumes such as beans, peas, and soybeans are a great way to replace meat with that can cause cancer. Legumes are rich in proteins, essential nutrients, low glycemic carbohydrates and high in fiber which is excellent in controlling appetite. The benefit in consuming legumes is that they help prevent chronic health condition such as certain cancers, diabetes, and even heart disease. 

Nuts and Seeds

All nuts are little high in calories. Nuts contain high protein, fiber, vitamins, antioxidants, and omega 3 levels. This great heart healthy snack is the best snack to choose from, just be careful not to consume too much, handful of nuts can be from 100 to 200 calories or even more. Chia seeds are the power house of seeds which are rich in omega 3 and fiber. Chia seeds don’t have any taste so they can be poured in water to drink. Because Chia seeds are so high in fiber once they touch water they transform into gel like substance.
