Common Drills
The Following are common exercises that we encourage our campers to do as part of their basketball training.
- Crossover to both hands
- Dribbling the ball back and forth to both hands helps you with your coordination not with just your dominant hand but also with your weaker hand. It increases your handle and will make you move less sloppy with the ball.
- Catch and Shooting
- Catching the ball and shooting it right away doesn't mean you have to rush your shot but it does help to figure out your true form and what you are comfortable with. It shows what you need to work on and the most we want to see that is important in shooting is the flick of the wrist, shooting in one motion, and knee bending.
- Finishing With Confidence
- Finishing is a work of art and we love to teach our campers to attack the defense with confidence and focus on your soft touch so that when you go up to lay the ball up you can make any shot you go for even if its contested. We show that the backboard is a big part in finishing and how to read it to get better results when laying the ball up.
