  Babe Ruth

 Right field, 1920-34

Babe Ruth played 22 seasons in the MLB, from 1914 through 1935. Nicknamed "The Bambino", Ruth achieved his greatest fame as a slugging outfielder for the New York Yankees. Ruth established many MLB batting records, including his third in the all time home run leaders with 714. Ruth is regarded as one of the greatest sports heroes in American culture and is considered by many to be the greatest baseball player of all time. In 1936, Ruth was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its "first five" inaugural members.

 

Derek Jeter

 Shortstop, 1995-2014

To most Yankees fans from the last decade to now, Derek Jeter is the Best player that ever played for the Yankees, He spent his whole MlB career playing for this team. He was the captain and the face of the Yankees for nearly 20 years. He is the Yankees' all-time leader in hits and has the most hits from the shortstop position in the history of baseball with 3,465 hits, record which ranks sixth in all time history. He also is the franchise leader in games played, at-bats, doubles, steals and strikeouts. A World Series MVP, an 14-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove winner, he is best regarded for having a professional sportslike manner that can't be measured by statistics or awards. He also won 5 championships for the yankees .

 

Joggi Berra

 Catcher, outfield 1946-65

Joggi Berra won 10 World Series and 14 pennants. He was a three-time MVP and an All-Star player for 15 straight years. He hit 306 home runs as a catcher which is a Yankees record. He also managed the Yankees to the 1964 World Series and was coached the 1977 and 1978 championship teams. He is the true definition of a Legendary Yankee.

 

Mariano Rivera

 Closer, 1995-2013

Just like most Yankees legends, Rivera is considered by most MLB fans the best ever at his position. He spent his whole career as a Yankees saving close games day in day out. He has the MLB record with 652 career saves. He also has 42 postseason saves, 11 of which came in the World Series (both major-league records). Mariano Rivera legendary pitching was a big factor in his 5 total championship wins as a Yankees player.

 

Joe Dimaggio

 Centerfield, 1936-51

He has a seemingly unbreakable record of 56 game hitting streak. He is a proud owner of 3 MVP awards. Known as "The Yankees Clipper", Dimaggio led the Yankees to 9 championship wins in 13 seasons.

 

Alex Rodriguez

  Third base, 2004-16

He was my favorite player growing up. Alex won two MVP awards and two American League home run titles after arriving to New York. He was the first to hit the 600th home run as a Yankee after Babe ruth. he once hit 18 RBIs in the 2009 postseason which is a record for the Yankees, and A-Rod has to be considered the best third baseman in Yankees history. He finished his career with 696 home runs.
