French toast

    Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup almond milk, skinny milk or any you like
  • 1 tsp teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 1-inch slices whole wheat challah bread
  • nonstick spray (can be butter flavor)
  • Low sugar maple syrup, for serving

    Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, and salt.
  2. -Dip each slice of bread into the mixture and set the soaked bread aside on a large tray or plate.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet to medium heat and spray with the nonstick spray.
  4. Add the bread slices and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Reduce the heat to low as needed to cook thoroughly without burning. Serve with maple syrup.

You can accompany the french toast with scrambled eggs or a portion of fruit of your choice, also a cup of coffee could make a good combination.
