Memories

Music also taps into a person's memory. One of the magical things about music is that it can either remind you of the good, or remind you of the bad. Once you hear a certain song or melody you go back in time. It could either be a wonderful or horrible time. Hearing a certain song may allow you to feel all of the emotions that you felt when you first heard the song.

Depression

We all know too well how greatly depression can affect our daily lives. It hinders our sleep, eating patterns and the way we may feel about ourselves. Depression may also affect a person's mood, behavior, and way of thinking.

Sleep

A lot of people may be victims of insomnia. Even though many would resort to medication, one solution is music. Studies have shown that music may result in significantly better sleep quality as well as longer sleep duration, greater sleep efficiency, shorter time needed to fall asleep, less sleep disturbance, and less daytime dysfunction.

Infant Development

Music played to the womb during a late pregnancy can result in a child becoming more responsive to music after birth. If a person was to play calm/soothing music, in hopes to have a newborn who is relaxed and less agitated. Playing music to the womb can also result in an increased of a child's stimulation.
