System Mechanics

All games have a set of rules and systems that dictate and shape how gameplay is. This section will cover what those systems are so that you the player get a better understanding of the pacing and basics of Street Fighter V.

V-Trigger & V-Skill

V-Trigger is the meter located at the bottom corners of the screen above the CA meter. Every character has a V-Trigger which is gained through the use of their V-Skill. Each V-Trigger varies from character to character, some get new moves while others are able to enhance the various moves they already have. When V-Trigger is activated after being filled a timer starts and depending on the moves used a portion of the meter gets depleted. Upon activation there is a brief time stop on screen as the character enters into V-Mode, the character also will start to show a visual change usually there will be a glowing aura around their fists. Once the meter runs out the character leave V-Trigger mode.

V-Trigger Activation

V-Skill is a special move in your characters arsenal which helps to build V-Trigger meter. Available to each character this is often either a defensive or offensive move that can be used for a variety of situations. For example Ryu can activate his "Minds Eye" which is a parry that can block incoming attacks high or low.

Critical Art Meter (CA)

Critical Art Meter known as CA or Super Meter rests under the V-Trigger bar at the bottom of the screen. This meter is divided into three blocks equally and fills up into a bright blue color. As one block gets filled the end reads "EX" showing you that EX Special Moves can be peformed. Once fully filled it glows with a brighter blue and is ready to use as the "CA" appears at the end of the meter. CA and EX specials will drain the amount of meter needed when used and once used have to be filled up again.

EX Special Moves are enhanced special moves that offer different properties compared to your regular special moves costing one segment of the CA gauge.Critical Art or CA is your cinematic special move done after performing a sequence of inputs while having full CA meter stocked.

EX-Hadouken

Ryu unleashes his CA "Shinkuu Hadouken""

Every action grants you CA meter, from hitting or even getting hit by opponents attacks. The amount of Hit-Points you or your opponent has doesn't affect the amount of CA you gain as it will be equal wheather you have low or a filled Health Meter. Since CA is every characters strongest attack it is best to use it when you are absolutely sure it wont go to waste since it uses all your meter. CA canan be used to cement your victory or even make a comeback use it wisely.
