Parts

MotherBoard

The Motherboard is the heart of the computer. This is the location where all the parts would be attached to and powered by. Without it the computer won’t function at all. Every motherboard is designed different, but they still have the same locations for connectors.

Processor

The Processor acts as the brain of the computer. Another name for this part is the CPU or Central Processing Unit, this part calculates everything that is going on inside of the computer. The CPU is the most important part of the computer and it’s the most stressful of parts to connect, because it needs exact precision to connect right.

Memory

The Memory Card is exactly what you think it is, it’s what stores all the data of the computer. Not to be confused with the hard drive which actually stores physical data. The memory card is just something you need to store hidden data that can’t be accessed.

Video Card

The Video Card/Graphics Card is what allows you to display things on screen. Without it you won’t be able to “use” the computer, since you won’t be able to see what’s going on, and if you purchase a cheaper card then the quality on screen would be a bit low. Another use for it is in gaming, it determines the quality of gaming you would be able to achieve.

Power Supply

The Power Supply is what powers the motherboard and in turn it would power everything else.

Hard Drive

The Hard Dive is a high-capacity, self-contained storage device containing a read-write mechanism plus one or more hard disks, inside a sealed unit. Also called hard disk drive. This is essentially the location of physical data like images, files, and the operating system.

Case

The Case is where all the parts are put into to keep them safe and stored away. Cases come in many shapes and sizes, depending on the case you buy determines the amount of space you have to work with. For example, the case I have has 3 slots for hard drives and an SSD.
