Ankara and Kente Cloth
Kente cloth is a Ghanaian textile that was worn by Akan royalty of the Ashanti empire in the 18th century. Today, kente cloth is worn at many traditional events such as engagements, graduations, and parties.
Akan Day Names
The Akan people, which is the largest tribe in Ghana, have a unique naming system for newborns. Names are given to each child based on the day of the week he/she was born on.
