Power Supply
Your power supply determines how much power output is given to your PC. The power output is measured in Watts. A common exmaple of a PSU rating is 400W, or 600W. Typically, power supplies are also rated for efficiency. The ranks consist of Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium. Choosing a good power supply is essential to your PC, especially considering if your power supply fails, all your expensive components can also die, and you will lose your money. To check the amount of power your PC will use, load your components onto PCPartPicker, and it will automatically tell you what the maximum amount of power your computer will use. A good starting PSU should have around 450-650W, and should typically be 80+Gold rated. Prices as of November 2018 indicate that power supplies are getting less and less expensive, which is good for the consumer market.
